TurnAround 101 with We Believe You (10/30)

Learn about new TurnAround Services at UMBC

You may have heard that TurnAround is a community resource for survivors of sexual violence and misconduct... but what does that mean? What are its services? How can survivors gain support and is there a cost? Are there ways that allies and advocates can also engage with TurnAround? Get the answers at a TurnAround 101 workshop, hosted by We Believe You, on Wednesday, October 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the Women's Center.

TurnAround staff members who serve in roles such as advocates, legal advocates, case managers, and community educators will share insights about their roles at TurnAround and how survivors and allies can benefit from their services.

This is a great 101 to a critical service that supports UMBC survivors and the UMBC community. Anyone interested in learning more about TurnAround or We Believe You is invited to this meeting.

Beginning November 6 and continuing the first and third Wednesdays (during the fall academic term with plans to continue in the spring semester) from 3:30-5:30 p.m., TurnAround staff will be available to meet confidentially with UMBC community members. Community members interested in connecting with TurnAround staff can meet with them in the Women's Center. No appointments necessary. For more information about these walk-in hours, see the attached flyer.

TurnAround serves individuals impacted by intimate partner and sexual violence in Baltimore City and County. Services include advocacy, case management, trauma therapy, shelter, and community education. They provide support, counseling, and information to victims of sexual assault, incest, child sexual assault, and domestic violence, regardless of sex or age. Individual and group counseling are available by appointment. For more information about TurnAround, visit their website: turnaroundinc.org/
