UMBC is currently increasing the variety of educational content available throughout campus and working with faculty to incorporate content into courses, including course syllabi and Blackboard sites.

  • Student Training Workgroup (see Training updates) is working to develop a potential prevention module for First Year Experience/Introduction to the Honors University courses
Add educational resources
  • The Faculty/Staff Advisory Committee and Gender, Women’s, + Sexuality Studies put forward language in the Faculty Senate in Spring 2019 to recommend language for course syllabi around sexual misconduct and the role of responsible employees. This language was approved in two forms (one form for courses where student experiences are central to the course content and another form for courses where student experiences are not likely to come up in class). That language can be found here
  • Title IX statement language was added as a menu link for all Blackboard courses beginning Winter 2020. The language is accessible via the “Syllabus” link on Blackboard.
  • A series of information webpages about sexual violence have been included on the Retriever Courage homepage. Pages include Title IX policies, consent, getting help, and campus culture change

  • The Communications workgroup is working on sourcing additional materials about other forms of interpersonal violence to share on the Retriever Courage website and in the campus resource stands
