Educator/activist Ted Bunch speaks at UMBC

On April 22, Ted Bunch, an educator/activist and leading voice on male socialization and violence against women, spoke to a full house in the Fine Arts Recital Hall composed primarily of UMBC athletes. The talk was part of the Retriever Courage initiative and organized by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Athletics, and the student activist/advocacy group We Believe You. This event is one of the pilots being assessed in order to expand on prevention and awareness programs already in place at UMBC and compliments ongoing programming. In March, fraternity and sorority members attended a talk organized by Campus Life and given by Tim Mousseau, a survivor who researches and writes about sexual violence prevention, survivor support, and masculinity.
